Central Connecticut State University’s Department of Communication – Student produced work for the Governor’s Complete Count Committee. Directed by Rashad Frett and Josh Therriault

Through the Independent Filmmaking track, students regularly use production techniques and practices for social good and to help vulnerable individuals. In doing so, CCSU filmmakers are exposed to and explore critical situations, individuals and dilemmas. Thereafter, through production, artistic investigation and proliferation, they engage.

SOCIAL MEDIA & ONLINE ENGAGEMENT

In these courses, students identify issues and seek tangible outcomes through the creation of online micro-campaigns.  In doing so, they develop imagery, messages and investigate the power of social media through the production process.   These online initiatives have recruited thousands of participants while also raising aid and goods for vulnerable individuals/families in CT.
