Meaningful artistic creation, regardless of previous experience, skill or talent is attainable by anyone with a strong desire to tell stories.

The Digital Filmmaking track within the Media Production and Performance emphasis, develops students into practicing production artists. Instruction emphasizes aesthetics, artistic direction, cinematography, non-linear editing, sound and story to ensure production proficiency.  Our students work in the entertainment industry, gain acceptance within graduate film programs, compete in festivals and most importantly, create compelling film-works for public consumption.

INTRO TO FILMMAKING (228) – This hands-on course introduces, explores and exercises story-telling techniques and production practices from idea to final delivery.

In this class, students use the camera wisely and form the basis of their artistic/story-telling techniques.

“My second film, MORNING AT LAST didn’t have a crew. I had two actors, one being my best friend, and his girlfriend.  It ended up getting best director at the Trinity Film Festival and was an official selection at other festivals in the northeast.” – Robby Silcox, CCSU FILM Graduate ’13
